Well, we had a very nice Christmas and the kids all
seemed to enjoy the holidays.
The
snow finally came in the middle of January. We received
approximately 5 feet in three days with intermittent
rain as well. Church was cancelled due to the snow so
Wade and all of the neighbors spent the day shoveling
snow throughout the neighborhood.
Abby
turned 8 years-old on January 31st and is excited to
get baptized
this saturday on February 12th. She had quite a birthday
party last Friday night. She called it a "Late
Over" party where 12 girls came over to watch a
movie and stay up late (10:00 p.m.). They really seemed
to have a good time. Wade got some great video of them
dancing for a few minutes after the movie and will post
it on Abby's page
soon along with some photos.
It
snowed a little last night and Sam spent a good hour
or so shoveling the walks all by himself with a small
toy snow shovel that he got for Christmas. He was exhausted!
Wade
tore a muscle in his right calf last Wednesday while
playing basketball. He has been hobbling around ever
since but it gets better each day. No more basketball
for a while.
Jenny
has been spending a lot of time helping out a friend
who has a sick baby. She also got Abby signed up for
a choir.

Both Abby
and Sam are now
moved into their new rooms. Once we got to it, painting
Sam's room went really fast. It is blue (about the color
of the blue used on this page). They are both doing
well downstairs and haven't been scared yet. Kate
is now asking, very sweetly, when we are going to paint
her room "pink and purple." We're not sure
what we are going to do about that...we really don't
want to paint anything on the main floor. Maybe she
will be happy with a few pink and purple decorations.
Maddie
has a new nick name. A few days ago Jenny found a small
"Santa Hat" in storage that fits Maddie perfectly.
She loves to wear it and smiles big when we call her
Maddie Claus. We will try to get a picture of it up
soon!
It
has been quite warm in Logan
(40's) for the last week or so with lots of rain in
the valley and snow in the mountains. It was really
quite nice to be able to avoid all the shoveling!
We
are nearly ready for Christmas and Jenny has put together
our Christmas
Letter this year. It will go out in a few days once
our pictures come back. We had a friend take a picture
of all of us that we will send out this year.
We
never did make it to the party in Aurora due to the
length of the trip. We missed seeing everyone but look
forward to the Grandparents visiting us on Christmas.
We will try to get some pictures taken and up on the
website soon. Wade is also working on getting some more
video clips up before to long.
Wade's
friend, Al (Alfie) Anderson has been sending him a number
of photos from their youth that are now up on the site.
If you want to see just how much goofier Wade looked
20 years ago take
a look.

Well, Abby has moved into her new room and seems to
really like it. She is spending a lot more time in there
reading and such and is excited to get her first alarm
clock (but she couldn't sleep the firest night in anticipation
of the alarm going off). Sam's room is next. It has
been cleared out and may get painted as soon as tonight.
It
has kept pretty cold in Logan but todays today's high
temperature has been 30 degrees. That is pretty nice
for Logan. It is forcasted to remain fairly balmy for
the next few days (if you can call the 30's balmy).
Jenny's
family is having a Christmas party on Saturday in Aurora,
Utah which is about 4 hours South of Logan. We aren't
sure we are up to spending eight hours on the road with
the kids or if we can afford the gas to go. Our van
is pretty much a hog when it comes to fuel.

We
hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Wade's family all
got together at our home for the holiday and it was
very nice. We were quite worried that the projected
snow storm
(it was -2 today) would prevent everyone
from making it through the canyon but everything worked
out just fine. The left-overs are finally running out
and we are now looking toward Christmas.
The
kids all went to Salt Lake to stay with Jenny's parents
for a couple of days while we went Christmas shopping
and spent some time together seeing movies (The
Work and Glory film is great! and Napolean
Dynamite was hillarious!). It wasn't long until
the children were missed and we arranged to pick them
up a bit early to beat a snow storm.
Jenny
and the children began decorating the house for Christmas
yesterday and everything is looking pretty festive.
We decided that Abby
and Sam
will be moving to their own rooms in the basement and,
to help them get on board with the idea, we agreed to
paint their rooms the color of their choice. Abby chose
pink and Sam chose blue. We finished painting Abby's
room on Saturday night and boy is it pink! We're talking
Pepto
Bismol Pink! Strawberry
Milk Pink! It looks like the Pink
Panther exploded! The best thing about it
is that Abby LOVES it! Sam's room will probably
be painted this weekend.
These
moves will allow us to move Maddie
and Kate into the same room
and move the office upstairs into Abby's old room. The
goal of the whole ordeal is to separate Sam and Kate,
who are currently sharing a room, to see if it will
help them get along a little better. For some reason
there is a lot of competition between the two of them
right now and we wonder if giving each of them their
own turf will help a little bit. Hopefully absence
will make the heart grow fonder.

Happy Veteran's Day!
It
looks like we are finally starting to settle down for
the holidays. Wade's family is coming to our house for
Thanksgiving this year and we are excited for that.
We got the yard ready for Winter last weekend which
was plenty of work. We had a good time trying to make
our vegetable and flower gardens grow and were thrilled
with our little harvest.
Wade
is still working at USU and finished his Master's Degree
in Instructional Technology over the Summer. Every Fall
he does a bit of travelling for work and is thrilled
that it is over for this year. Wade was recently called
into the Bishopric of our ward and is still getting
used to the idea. Regardless, he is thrilled to serve.
He is also beginning to contemplate a PhD but no news
yet.
Jenny
is teaching the "Teachings
of our Times" lessons in Relief Society and
really loves it. She has been having a lot of fun watching
the children grow and spending a lot of time in the
gardens. Since we have moved into the new house Jenny
has spent a lot of time arranging and laying out the
landscaping. As always, she is run ragged getting everyone
in the family where they need to be (especially on Sundays
when she has to get everyone ready alone!).
Abby
is now in the second grade at Wilson
Elementary (Mrs. Hansen's class) and is doing quite
well. She was a bit concerned at first because all of
her First Grade friends ended up in different classes
but she is getting along good and they all meet up at
recess and after school.
Sam
is in Kindergarten (Mrs. Palmer's class) and LOVING
it! He is already reading quite well and is really maturing.
He is still a silly as ever and has a lot of fun teasing.
Kate
just turned three on November 2nd and is very cute.
She seems to feel a bit left out with the older two
going to school but as the baby gets older she is gaining
a . Her nursery leaders at church sure love
her and she loves them.
Maddie
is now seven months old and playing a lot! She is very
happy and likes to sit up and check out what is going
on. She gets around by rolling on the floor and we have
to watch her close!
